You may have already encountered the error code err_cache_miss. But for the same money that hasn't happened yet. What exactly does the error code mean? And, more importantly: how do you solve it again? In this article, we look at all the solutions for the err_cache_miss problem in Chrome.
Err_cache_miss
The problem sometimes comes up when you use the Google Chrome browser on your Chromebook used. Therefore, it is easy to think that it is a bug of the browser you are using. But that's not the case at all. The error lies with the website you are currently visiting.
These are websites to which you send information via a form. If you run into this problem and refreshing the page does not help, then in this article we provide solutions that may work. You don't have to be a big tech connoisseur for this, luckily.
The problem can have several causes. You may also encounter the problem in other browsers, such as Firefox. Because there can be many causes, it is now even more important to look at what you can do about it if the problem knocks on your door.
Fix err_cache_miss Chrome
The first action you can take is to refresh the page. You do this by pressing the circle with an arrow next to the address bar. Sometimes it can happen that a Chromebook loses connection to the internet for a while, thus causing problems when loading specific pages. A fast reload is then the best solution.
A second solution is to update the Google Chrome browser (or whatever browser you are currently using). When an update is ready for Chrome browser, you will see it in the top right of the bar, next to the settings. You will see a green or sometimes red button there. If the button is red, it has been a while since you updated the browser.

Browser data and extensions
You can also clear your browser data. You may have some corrupted files in your browser's cache. You can quickly remove them by proceeding as follows.
- Press the three dots for the settings at the top right of the browser bar.
- Go with you mouse of keyboard to More Tools at the bottom.
- Select the Clear browsing data option here.
Now a new window will appear. Under the Basic tab, make sure you activate all three check marks (i.e. Browser history, Cookies and other data and Cached images and files. Press clear data and restart the browser.
Other browsers offer similar functions. Browsers based on the Chromium engine (the basis of the program) use a similar method.
It is also possible that certain extensions throw a spanner in the works. If an extension no longer works properly or is corrupted, you will be faced with problems that you do not want. Go to More tools again and now press Extensions. Disable all extensions here.
Network settings and reset
If the problems of err_cache_miss still occur, you should check your network settings and adjust them if necessary. To do this, proceed as follows.
- Go to Quick settings at the bottom right by clicking on the time.
- Select Settings (the gear icon).
- Go to Network and select the Wi-Fi option.
- Check if the Chromebook can still connect.
- Check the password.
- Optionally, enable Connect to this network automatically.
- You can also check Give this network priority.
- If you want that Chromebook forget a network, then select Known Networks under Wi-Fi options.
- Find the network you want to forget, press More (the three dots) and click Forget.
- Now you can reconnect to this network, as if it were a new network.
Resetting your browser is also an option. To do this, press the three dots of your Chrome browser again and then Settings (at the very bottom). If you use a different browser, you have to get to the menu for all settings.
In the case of Chrome, press Advanced on the left, then Reset and cleanup. Then press Restore settings to the original defaults and confirm your choice. Restart your browser to see if the problem has really been resolved.
Disable cache
The last workaround we can suggest for err_cache_miss is to disable the cache.
- Open the three dots again.
- Go to More tools.
- Now select Developer Tools.
- Click on the Network button on the right side of the screen.
- And now place a check mark at the option Disable cache, also on the right side of the screen.
If the problems still persist, then you really tried everything to solve it. Then the problem really lies with the website.
