GoPlay is a Belgian video streaming service where you can watch various films, series and shows. The streaming service is free to use and can be reached via a website or app. Watching on a PC or smartphone is not ideal, so how do you put the content on the big screen of your television?

The Belgian video streaming service GoPlay has been launched by SBS Belgium. You can watch the programs of four different channels: Play4, Play5, Play6 and Play7.

You watch programs that have already been broadcast, but also find exclusive content.

Watch GoPlay programs

You view GoPlay programs in two ways: via the website or via the app. In both cases you need an account, but you don't have to pay for anything.

Instead, you will see commercials while watching, so be prepared for that.

At the time of writing, you can only download apps for Android en iOS. It is not yet possible to download an app for a smart TV.

For that reason, it would be useful if you could stream the various films and series from the app to the Chromecast in or on the TV.

However, that is unfortunately not possible. Both apps do not offer Chromecastsupport. And that's a pity, because that means you have to work with a detour.

Admittedly, the detour requires little of your time and patience, but competing services show that it can be done easier.

GoPlay to Chromecast stream

Until then, you need to proceed in the following way. Let's hope GoPlay in the future at least Chromecastreleases support or else launches a smart TV app.

Do you want to stream the content to your TV now? Then you proceed as follows.

GoPlay streaming via Chromecast
In the step-by-step plan below, we tell you how to stream GoPlay content to a television with Chromecast.
Go to the GoPlay website within the Google Chrome browser.
Log in with your account and think about what you want to watch.
Press the three dots on the right of the screen to open the settings.
Move your mouse cursor through the list until you get to Cast….
Press Cast… and then the Sources button.
You will find that button at the bottom of the list of available ones Chromecastdevices.
Under Sources, select what you want to cast.
You have three options: tab, desktop, or cast file.
The Cast Tab option will suffice for now; choose those.
With the Cast tab option, you only cast the tab that is currently active (i.e. the tab with GoPlay open).
Select the Chromecast or TV you want to cast the content to.
If everything is installed correctly, you will see a list of available devices within your network.
The content is now sent to the television.
After choosing the Chromecast or TV, the content is automatically displayed on the big screen.
Now press play in your browser.
And enjoy the content you want to watch.

Remember that when you cast a tab, everyone in the house can watch that tab. Make sure you only cast tabs that don't contain any personal information.

GoPlay Airplay

Where it used to be possible to use Goplay and Airplay together, that is unfortunately no longer an option.

The reason stated by the company for this is that advertisements must be played on the smartphone. So this wouldn't happen on the big screen. This is not a desirable user experience.

It is possible to use Goplay Airplay via the browser, but this must be on an Apple device. If the specific video supports Airplay, you will automatically see the icon for this appear on the player.

Chromecast install and more tips

Do you run into problems or don't know where to start as a beginner Chromecast-user?

Don't worry, because Chromefans has written plenty of helpful guides to get you started.

You can read all about it in this article installing the Chromecast. There you can read more about the conditions that devices must meet.

For example, both the source and target device must be in the same network, otherwise they cannot “see” each other.

Do you notice that the Chromecast not working so well? Then think about him to reset. If you have a modern television, you probably don't have a separate one Chromecastdevice is no longer needed. Everything you want to know about Chromecast built-in, read in this article.

  1. Until yesterday I could cast from my mobile phone via the site, wait until after commercials and then the cast symbol came….
Today that is no longer possible. Anyone have the ultimate tip?
